Planning For 2009

If you haven’t noticed yet, the 2009 seed catalogs are starting to come out. Two of my favorites, Southern Exposure Seed Exchange and Seed Savers Exchange, have their catalogs available in PDF format on their websites (I have provided the links below). Still waiting for Seeds of Change.

Roswell Recycling Center

On November 28, the day after Thansgiving, I loaded up my car with recyclables to drop off at the Roswell Recycling Center before I went to Harry’s (Whole Foods) to get my groceries for the week. I wasn’t quite sure if the recycling center would be open or not, it being the day after Thanksgiving.

It wasn’t open, but it seems that the trip wasn’t a complete waste. As I turned the corner to head toward Harry’s, out the corner of my eye I saw a banner hanging from the recycling center building. Now Recycling Plastics 1-7 it said, I could barely contain myself. This might not seem like some amazing thing to others, but to me, a person determined to reduce his waste stream, this was big stuff. Now I had a place to take all of those #3-7 plastics that I was unable to reuse...you can only use so many Stoneyfield seedling pots. Huzzah!

I Haven't Forgotten About You

The past few weeks have been overwhelming for me between work, grad school, and everything else I try to accomplish. Just writing to let you know that I haven't forgotten about you and should have a few new posts in the next week...after I finish up my last research paper and final.
